A story of rebirth
The history of Cibus has deep roots in 1960, when Maurizio Burocchi founded
a cheese and cured meats wholesaler in Penna San Giovanni, carrying on the
family tradition in a peripheral area but rich in authenticity.
At the same time, in Gualdo (MC), the Beccerica family, sheep breeders and cheesemakers for
three generations, consolidated their dairy factory, known for the quality of its artisanal products.
The 2016 earthquake destroyed the Beccerica dairy factory and the Burocchi wholesaler. Faced with this immense difficulty, Romina and Domiziano, heirs of the two families affected and united not only by marriage but also by the love for their land, decide to transform the pain into an opportunity.
Romina and Domiziano purchase an old grain consortium in Penna San Giovanni. The renovations begin immediately, with the aim of uniting the two family traditions in a single place, where quality and passion for work can merge.
After years of dedication, the works are done. In the meantime, Romina and Domiziano’s children also become passionate about the family business, helping to expand Cibus with a restaurant offer that combines tradition and innovation.
Today Cibus is the symbol of the resilience and passion of the Burocchi-Beccerica family. It is a place where the bond between people and the land is expressed through the quality of the products, which arrive directly on the dinner table or in the restaurant’s dishes.
